NDIS Plan Management is one of the three ways a participant can manage their plan funds. When a participant is Plan Managed, they have the help of a Plan Management provider assisting them by paying NDIS related invoices, keeping a record of all payments made, assisting with any questions regarding funding as well as providing updates on budgets.
Plan Management comes at no cost to the participant. Funds are included in the NDIS Plan to cover this service and do not take away from any other funding included in a plan.
Plan Management services help with the finical administration of an NDIS plan, paying someones NDIS provider bills, keeping a record of invoices, and assisting with funding questions. Support Coordination assists a participant in building their skills to understand, implement and use their plan. They help with the planning and engagement of supports and providers. A Plan Manager does not assist with the setting up of supports like a Support Coordinator does.
No. When you are plan Managed you have the flexibility of choosing from NDIS registered and non NDIS registered providers.
When you are Plan Managed providers can not charge more than price limits set by the NDIS Price Guide. Each service and support vary in price.
Anyone can have Plan Management included in their plan and there is no cost involved. You don’t need to wait for a plan review meeting if you want to switch to Plan Management. You can request this change at any time. Simply contact your Local Area Coordinator (LAC) or Early Childhood Early Intervention (ECEI) or contact the NDIS on 1800 800 110 and make a request for your funding management to be changed to Plan Management.
A Plan Manager can not help with engaging with providers. They can provide options for a participant to then reach out to and from there the participant engages with the most suitable provider for them.
Yes. Like all your other NDIS providers you need to sign a service agreement between yourself and your Plan Management Provider.
