Participant Stories
Pathways to Care have been supporting Yassin with Support Coordination and Plan Management for over two years. Yassin is a sports lover and a keen tennis player. His focus has been to play as much tennis as possible. As well as working full time and caring for Yassin full time, his dad has had to juggle not only these responsibilities but also helping to facilitate Yassin’s passion for tennis.
Through the help of his Support Coordinator and Plan Management team, Yassin and his dad have found that so much time has been freed up for them, not only to help Yassin pursue his tennis but also to participate in other activities of their everyday lives. They now have someone working alongside them pushing for Yassin’s best interests as well as a Plan Manager they can rely on to take a huge administration burden off their plate. We are so pleased to say Yassin has come leaps and bounds with his tennis. He has been able to attend tennis training in Melbourne, along with an Australian Tennis Camp at the AIS. He has also just recently participated in the Bendigo State Performance Championships - Victoria Wheelchair. Yassin participated in the under 19’s tournament (despite only being 13!), in the singles, doubles and mixed doubles competitions and had some amazing results, placing 3rd, 2nd and 2nd respectively. We cannot wait to see what the future holds for Yassin.
