NDIS Insights and Connections: Safeguarding Participants & Support Workers - Geelong

Geelong, venue TBC, 27th August, 10am-1pm

Are you an NDIS Support Coordinator, Disability Support Work provider, Disability Support Worker working for a provider or sole trader, or a parent, carer or nominee of an NDIS Participant in the Geelong area? Join Pathways to Care for a free morning session focusing on policies and procedures providers can take to safeguard everyone involved in delivering disability care, featuring a guest speaker from the Victorian Disability Worker Commission.

We will delve into how we safeguard participants and providers from our perspective as plan managers. We will detail how our software system has built-in layers to alert us to spending outside of what was agreed upon according to service agreements and the importance of communication.

We are fortunate enough to have Catherine from The Happy Kitchen Occupational Therapy as a guest speaker. As an Occupational Therapist with over 10 years of experience in the industry, Catherine will discuss her approach to safeguarding. She is acutely aware of how important safety is when working with kids and young adults.

We are very excited to have Dan Stubbs, the commissioner and head of the Victorian Disability Workers Commission, join us again as a guest speaker. Dan will detail the scheme's components (code of conduct, mandatory notifications, independent complaints, voluntary registration) and delve into the multitude of resources available. The scheme was established in 2018 and is integral to ensuring the industry is kept to a high standard and supports workers and people with disabilities.

Join us and connect with like-minded NDIS providers. This is a great opportunity to learn from others and share your business. Remember to bring your business cards for a chance to speak to the room about your business!

Registration will open on the day at 9.30 am for a 10 am sharp start.

We can't wait to see you all there!
